The INIA carried out a series of dissemination activities of the PTEC-INVA in the Aysén Region.

Within the framework of the Technological Program for the Local Production of Nutritional Inputs for Aquaculture (PTEC-INVA), the Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) carried out a series of dissemination activities in the Aysén Region. INIA is one of the co-executing entities of the Program.

This initiative has as its main objective: "To create an enabling platform to support the production and use of vegetable nutritional inputs from rotation crops of the southern and austral macrozone of Chile as a sustainable source of proteins and oils, which can be scalable, cost and environmentally effective for use in the formulation of salmonid diets", whose implementation is led by the company Salmones Antarctica (SASA) together with a group of six co-executors, among which are, in addition to INIA, the Food Technology Innovation Center (CeTA), VeHiCe, Agrotop (Saprosem), the Catholic University of Temuco (UCT) and the University of Chile (UChile). All of this is driven by the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (Corfo).

The first of the events organized by INIA in the Aysén Region was a Field Day and technical talks with female and male farmers who are cultivating or wish to produce plant species intended for salmon farming nutrition, either for the Atlantic species, alreadyAtlantic salmon), coho or Pacific (Coho salmon) and rainbow trout (Rainbow trout).

Another of the highlighted activities was a meeting with the Regional Office of Corfo, in which the director and deputy director of the development agency, Humberto Marín and Fernando Johnson, respectively, participated. In representation of the Institute, the person in charge of the INIA Project for PTEC-INVA, Dr. Claudia Osorio, was present along with the technical team professionals Dr. Claudio Jobet from INIA Carillanca (Region of La) Araucanía) and Dr. Osvaldo Teuber from INIA Tamel Aike (Aysén Region).

Moreover, the INIA delegation was interviewed in the program "Conversando con Ogana (Agrarian and Livestock Trade Association Austral A.G.)" of Santa María Radio and TV.

"This meeting with the authorities from Corfo, with the farmers, as well as the interviews with the press, such as Santa María Radio and TV, allowed us to communicate the progress of the implementation of the PTEC-INVA in the Aysén Region, as well as the general details of the Program in its entirety," valued Dr. Claudia Osorio.
