It is e-Enexpro Products of the Sea 2023, a virtual event organized by ProChile which brings together companies from Arica to Magallanes with more than a hundred international importing companies with the aim of finalizing new business deals and diversifying export markets for their food.

From this Monday, 13 November, the first part of the 2023 version of e-Enexpro Productos del Mar will take place. In this session, 64 Chilean companies, from seven regions of the country -mostly concentrated in the Los Lagos region (58%), Metropolitan (14%) and Biobío (13%)—will meet with a hundred importing companies from around the world to finalise new business deals and diversify export markets for their fish, seafood, crustaceans, among other foods of hydrobiological origin.

According to ProChile, the state institution responsible for organizing e-Enexpro, it is the most important seafood product promotion event in the country.

In detail, it is a 100% digital event, in which exporters directly manage their business meetings with interested buyers, an important opportunity considering that seafood is one of the most relevant economic sectors. Only in 2022 it totaled exports of more than US$6 billion and employs more than 70,000 people in different regions of the country.

The director of ProChile in the Los Lagos region, Ricardo Arriagada, explains that "this activity represents an excellent opportunity for international buyer companies to discover the most outstanding of the region's exportable seafood products and of all Chile. This includes an impressive variety, such as Atlantic salmon, coho salmon (Pacific), trout, mussels (choritos), hake, sardine, cod, abalone, sea urchins and octopus

In turn, Ricardo Arriagada highlighted that Chilean salmon, one of the characteristic products of the offer, is exported to more than 100 markets and today more than 70% of salmon producers are certified with different seals. One of these is the Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP).

In the 2023 version of e-Enexpro Productos del Mar, 105 importers from 31 markets in America, Europe, Asia and Africa participate, where the participation of China with 17 importers stands out.
