It was reported that the consultancy Aquabench will temporarily assume the position, while the selection process for the new director is carried out, who will be responsible for leading the next stage of the initiative.
Yelcho Alliance reported last week that, from May 1, 2026, David Farcas left his functions as director of this public-private initiative, after three years leading the project.
Members of the organization expressed their sincere gratitude for the dedication, commitment and leadership with which the professional faced this challenge. His contribution, along with his solid track record and experience in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as his links with academia, public institutions and salmon farming companies, were key to promoting the development and positioning of the alliance - both at a national level as well as international – whose purpose is to promote effective immunological solutions for the prevention of bacterial diseases in salmon farming, contributing to the reduction of antibiotic use.
In this context, and as part of a planned transition, the Yelcho Alliance reported that the consultancy Aquabench will temporarily assume the position, while the process of selecting the new director is carried out, who will be responsible for leading the next stage of the initiative. For this, an internal consultation will be carried out in which all members of the entity will participate.
During his management, David Farcas successfully articulated public and private interests in a unique collaboration instance, strengthening the positioning of the Chilean salmon farming industry and making concrete progress in the development of new solutions for SRS. "I leave very grateful for the opportunity to have led Yelcho, where we formed a great team. The achievements are the result of collaborative work between the" producer companies of salmon, the guilds, the SAG and SERNAPESCA. I hope the alliance continues to strengthen and achieves all its objectives, as its success is fundamental for the development of our industry," said the professional.
The Executive Committee and all members of Alianza Yelcho wish David the greatest success in his future professional and personal challenges, trusting that he will continue to contribute to the development of the sector from new positions.
