With the participation of leading national and international leaders in research, public management and aquaculture innovation, the event continues to advance in the consolidation of its scientific program with the organization in charge of the University of Chile, through the Faculty of Veterinary and Peculiar Sciences (Favet) and the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FCA), in conjunction with the Chilean Society of Aquaculture (SCHACUI).
The National Aquaculture Congress, to be held from 30 November to 2 December of this year, has been consolidated as the country's main scientific-technical meeting in this area, providing a space for the exchange of knowledge, the dissemination of research results and the dialogue between academia, the public sector and industry, with a view to strengthening the sustainable development of Chilean aquaculture.
This event seeks to encourage the participation of researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, professionals and representatives of the productive sector who develop research and innovation in areas related to animal health, production, genetics, nutrition, sustainability, environment, animal welfare and new technologies applied to aquaculture.
"The participation of these lecturers reflects the scientific level and diversity of perspectives that we want to bring together in this XI version of the National Aquaculture Congress. Having leaders from academia, the public sector and industry will allow us to address, from different perspectives, the challenges faced by national aquaculture and to project solutions based on evidence and collaboration. We invite researchers, students and professionals to be part of this space of exchange, which seeks to strengthen the sustainable development of aquaculture in Chile,” said Dr. Jurij Wacyk, academic of the FCA of the University of Chile and president of the organizing commission of the congress.
For his part, Antonio Vélez, president of the Chilean Society of Aquaculture (SCHACUI), highlighted the relevance of the participation of exhibitors of trajectory: “To have specialists of the level of those who integrate our program of exhibitors reflects the commitment of the Congress to scientific excellence and to deliver an updated, rigorous and diverse look. The collaboration that we must promote among these specialists is necessary, to accelerate the diversification of aquaculture in our country."
As part of its programming, the Congress will bring together a prominent group of speakers, whose trajectories reflect the diversity of disciplines and perspectives needed to face the challenges presented by aquaculture activity today.
The program considers the participation of the academic Daniel MonteroProfessor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and researcher at the ECOAQUA University Institute. Recognized internationally for its contributions in the nutrition, health and welfare of marine fish, it has led numerous European research projects aimed at the development of sustainable aquaculture.
