In the case of PTECs and technological consortia related to the cultivation of hydrobiological species, PTECAO and PTEC-INVA stand out.
In units of the National Directorate of the Production Development Corporation (Corfo) took place on Thursday, January 11 V Meeting of Technological Programmes and Consortiums, at which representatives of the mining, advanced manufacturing, health, food, agriculture, energy, construction and aquaculture industry to share experiences and propose areas of improvement to the agency's instruments.
According to reports by Corfo, more than $110,000 million of private investment managed to leverage the programmes and consortia during 2023, linking to 36 technical-professional institutions in twelve regions of the country.
In this context, the manager of Technology Capabilities of the Corporation, Fernando Hentzschel, gave a detail of the management of last year and detailed that in the period they were supported more than 450 partnership projects technological development in agriculture, tourism, aquaculture, manufacturing, energy, among others.
"More than 2,800 SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) and entrepreneurship were also benefited by technological centers and programs (PTEC) for the food, construction, circular economy, creative industry, among others, through the transfer of enabled technology for these effects by the PTEC," said Fernando Hentzschel.
In the case of TECs and consortia related to the cultivation of hydrobiological speciesprogrammes such as ocean aquaculture were highlighted (PTECAO) and especially the Technological Program for the Local Production of Nutritional Inputs for Aquaculture (PTEC-INVA), whose fundamental objective is to generate an enabling platform to support the production and use of nutritional vegetable inputs from rotational crops of the southern and southern macrozone of Chile as sustainable source of proteins and oilswhich may be scalable, cost-effective and environmentally effective for use in elaboration of salmonid diets.

Close Gaps
Both programmes such as technology consortia aim to increase the rate of innovation in companies' products and processes in specific productive and economic sectors; and contribute to the development of enabling capacities for Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+i) and creation of public goods for the competitiveness.
Faced with this scenario, Corfo's executive vice president, Jose Miguel Benavente"We are fully aware that technological programs need the next phase that has to do with injection of important resources to make the first plants, which we are working on as Corfo, as a government and as a state."

Benavente also explained that at the base of the programs and consortia is the idea of narrowing and closing detected gapsimproving the productivity of the sectors involved in them and contributing to their diversification and sophistication.
"As well, we seek to build the development of technological capabilities thinking about innovation and science-technology-based enterprises," concluded Corfo's helmsman.
