In May 2023, Astilleros Calfumar started operations at its new facilities located inside the premises of Fundación Chinquihue, in the commune of Puerto Montt, Los Lagos Region. It is an infrastructure equipped with 3,000 m2 of deck available for docking, building and providing maintenance services for naval equipment.
The area has the corresponding maritime authority permits (concession granted to Fundación Chinquihue), as well as preferential access to the dock of that entity. In this way, Calfumar is able to provide qualified maritime services backed by the 25 years of experience of the professionals who make up the company's work team.
"Also, we have the capacity to carry out pontoon repair services on site, in the regions of Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes, with customers who prefer the speed and quality of our services," explains the general manager of Calfumar, Jaime Troncoso.
The company, which is also part of the shipowners and maritime services guild Arasemar A.G., is known for its high response capacity to emergency requests. "Our clients highlight the commitment and responsibility with which we approach each task, whether in the shipyard or on site. We provide services with wide coverage and work together with the client, ensuring each of our projects through "an excellent service focused on their needs," says Diego Troncoso, who is a partner director of Calfumar.
The services that the company is currently able to deliver are mainly five: construction of naval equipment; maintenance and repair of pontoons; emergency repairs; civil maintenance and construction; as well as supply of different inputs for the aquaculture industry.
