Regional seafood exports to this market reached US$ 2.383 million in 2025.

The Los Lagos Region will have a prominent role in an important international activity driven by ProChile: the participation of regional companies in the Seafood Expo North America 2026, which will take place in the United States.

The aforementioned fair will take place between 15 and 17 March at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, in the city of Boston. "It is one of the most relevant events in the fishing and aquaculture sector worldwide, where Chile will present its range of seafood products to buyers, distributors and key industry players," highlighted Ricardo Arriagada, regional director of ProChile in Los Lagos.

In this context, three companies from the Los Lagos region will be part of the Chilean pavilion: Integra Chile, Manuelita Acuicultura and Pesquera Catalunya. These companies will display a varied offer that includes salmon, mussels and different frozen or canned seafood products, many of them with added value and in ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat formats.

Arriagada said that "the regional presence at this fair reflects the strength of the aquaculture and fishing sector in the south of the country". According to him, "the companies from Los Lagos arrive with products that combine quality, innovation and international certifications, attributes that are highly valued in the US market".

Marine product exports from Los Lagos reached last year US$ 6,633 million, with a growth of 2.8% compared to 2024, with the main products being salmon and trout and mussels. In the case of the United States, regional marine product exports were US$ 2,383 million, representing 36% of sales.

Arriagada emphasized that "The United States remains the main destination for Chilean seafood products, so this type of initiative allows to strengthen existing commercial relationships and open new business opportunities for the national industry."
