Companies from the Los Lagos region stood out at the international fair with a solid exportable offer.
Chilean aquaculture companies from the Los Lagos region stood out in the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo 2024, one of the largest fairs in the global seafood industry. The event, held from October 30 to November 1 in Qingdao, China, provided Chilean exporters with the opportunity to showcase their products, participate in business meetings and establish valuable contacts to consolidate the country's position in the Asian market.
The eight companies from the Los Lagos region highlighted with a strong exportable offer. "This fair represents a unique opportunity for Chilean companies to promote and diversify their products, connect with potential customers and establish strategic business relationships. Our pavilion offered a prominent showcase, especially for the region's star products, such as salmon and mussels, which position the Los Lagos as the national leader in production and exports. These products play a relevant role in the region's export identity and allow Chilean companies to highlight the quality and sustainability that define our industry," said Ricardo Arriagada, regional director of ProChile Los Lagos.

Alejandro Cuevas, commercial manager at Marine Farm, emphasized the importance of this fair: "The China Fisheries & Seafood Expo is the main exhibition place for the seafood industry for the Asian market. As such, at Marine Farm it allows us to stay close to our customers in a relevant market for us that continues to grow in demand for salmon each year. Through this fair, we continue to connect and understanding better the different markets that make up the region, and how we continue working together with our customers to add value through our wide range of products," highlighted Cuevas.

The companies that represented the Los Lagos region were: DANI Group, Pacific Star – Trusal, MarineFarm, St. Andrews Mussels, Yadran - High Quality Salmon, Manuelita Aquaculture, Pure Nature and Cermaq Chile S.A. "Their participation not only strengthens Chile's image as a reliable and competitive supplier in the field of marine products, but also opens up opportunities to establish new business alliances and explore potential businesses in the demanding Asian market," said ProChile.

It should be noted that, between January and September of this year, the exports of Sea Products of the Los Lagos region total US$ 4,633 million, with salmon and mussels being the main products sent, where the geographic area of Asia has received US$ 1,285 million, being the second destination after North America.
