The buoy, located in the "Barrio" 11, has state-of-the-art technology and can measure both marine and meteorological parameters.

Innovex, a Chilean company specialized in the development of technologies to measure and monitor environmental and oceanographic parameters for different industries, continues its commitment to innovation and environmental care in the aquaculture.

The above, having completed and begun the operation of a modern oceanographic buoy in the center of cultivation "Chauco", located in the Group of Salmonids Concessions (term better known as "Barrio") ACS 11in the province of Chiloe, Los Lagos region.

The new floating body has a total volume of 3,100 litres, has been designed to operate in extreme conditions and meets the strict Rule 3408 for oceanographic buoys, according to Innovex's assurance.

"This new equipment has sensors advanced technology, which will allow to measure essential parameters for marine monitoring, such as oxygen, temperature, salinity, turbidity, chlorophyll, pH and depth using sensors Seabird. In addition, it incorporates a system to assess the speed and direction of multilayer currents, as well as a weather station on its surface," explained the company's operations manager, Gonzalo Santamarina.

This project is part of the Innovex Oceanographic Boys Area and represents the buoy Number 21 installed by the company. In turn, it's the seventh buoy operating under the Oceanographic Boya Program for Aquaculture Districts.

"With the installation of this new buoy, Innovex reaffirms its commitment to innovation and monitoring of our oceans, working for a better future for the aquaculture industry and the environment", concluded Santamarina.
