The event, organized by SalmonChile, will take place at the Teatro del Lago in Frutillar, consolidating itself as the main strategic forum for salmon farming. This year's edition will focus on the role of the private sector as a driver of sustainable growth for the coming decades.
In a few weeks, the Teatro del Lago de Frutillar will open its doors to the third edition of SalmonChile Summit, meeting that takes on a special meaning as it is framed within the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of SalmonChile.
The event, supported by MSC, BioMar, Andes Logistics, LATAM Cargo, CMPC, STIM, MSD, BCI, AKVA group, ACHS, Schmidt & CIA., NACHIPA, Hendrix Genetics, Veterquímica and Oxysur, will take place this year under the slogan "Certainties for sustainable growth" and aims to open a direct conversation about the gaps that currently hinder the country's development.
Following the success of previous editions - in 2025 the main presidential candidates were brought together to debate the future of Chile - the SalmonChile Summit 2026 enters its final countdown positioning itself as a particularly influential dialogue space for the economic and social development of southern Chile.
With a month to go before the event, which in previous editions drew more than 2,400 people in person and over 700 thousand online, attention is turning to how the sector can broaden the discussion beyond production and take the lead on sustainability and innovation. The 2026 edition will celebrate the association’s four decades and focus on strengthening Chile’s position as a major food producer global.
We are just weeks away from a milestone that fills us with pride. The SalmonChile Summit will be the space to reflect together with other productive sectors and national authorities on what we have built in 40 years, but with our eyes set on the future. We want to discuss how to build certainties so that our activity can grow in a sustainable way and continue to be the engine of development of the southern regions of Chile, as it has "Has been so far, and continues to contribute to the country as a whole," said Patricio Melero, president of SalmonChile.
The meeting will once again bring together business leaders, national authorities and representatives of civil society. Following previous editions that addressed topics such as regional development, institutional framework, projection to 2050 and the political role of the sector, the 2026 edition will seek to be a space for discussion on how salmon farming can be consolidated as a platform for sustainable growth, technological innovation and generation of opportunities for the southern regions.
