"Regulatory and environmental challenges for ocean aquaculture, exposed areas or high energy zones" is the name of the international seminar that will take place in the city of Puerto Varas, Los Lagos Region, on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 July of this year.
The responsibility of this important international event is in charge of the Strategic Technology Program for the Development of Ocean Aquaculture (PTECAO) - Consorcio SpA, composed of the supplier companies Walbusch S.A., AST Networks and Aquarov Ltda., and is part of the closing activities of the Program.
100% of the proposed objectives have been achieved, reaching a high market penetration. Therefore, three months before the five-year implementation deadline agreed with the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (Corfo), it is worth making an inventory and giving public recognition to Corfo, which co-financed 25% of the resources used in the action plan, and also very importantly to the Subsecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Subpesca) and to the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) for their invaluable contribution and dedication, without which it would not have been possible to reach where we are today," valued the legal representative of Consorcio SpA, Walter Buschmann Schirmer.
World size event
The relevance of this international seminar to be held in Puerto Varas on July 4 and 5 lies in the fact that professionals and managers working in the development of this type of aquaculture in countries such as Norway, Scotland and the United States will be present in Chile, along with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Atmospheric (NOAA), sector authorities and local professionals, will present the state of the art, "which will certainly serve as an input to consider when projecting the path our aquaculture must take in the short and medium term," explained Walter Buschmann.
In turn, he said, "for the same reason and aware of our limitations, we invite the co-execution of this seminar by PETEC Aquaculture 2025 led by EcoSea Farming, who have provided us with their international network of contacts and their local management capacity, so we are sure this will be a seminar of the highest standing for all the actors in the national and global aquaculture sector."
To close, Buschmann invited all of them "to book these dates now, and to stay tuned, as we will soon be informing about the final program of the event and the way in which you can participate in this free in-person activity."
