The Third Aquaculture Solutions Meeting consolidates its role as a key space for the articulation and sustainable development of the sector in the region.

The Third Aquaculture Solutions Meeting (ESA Aysén 2025) -organized by Salmon expert with the support of SalmonChile, CORFO, the Salmon Council, Sernapesca and the Aysén Regional Government, brought together more than 200 attendees in a day focused on promoting the sustainable development of the regional aquaculture sector and strengthening the local supplier ecosystem.

The event, held in Puerto Aysén, was attended by more than 60 regional suppliers, representatives from the public sector, academia and the main salmon farming companies, consolidating itself as one of the most relevant platforms for the articulation of the southern aquaculture ecosystem.

"THIS Aysén 2025 demonstrates the commitment of the salmon farming sector to territorial development and the generation of shared value. At SalmonChile we are convinced that Aysén has unique conditions to consolidate as an aquaculture innovation hub, where the development of local suppliers is a driver of economic diversification and territorial sustainability," highlighted Fernando Camiruaga, representative of SalmonChile in the Aysé regionn.

One of the central moments of the day was the panel led by Fernando Camiruaga, on “Strengthenings and challenges for the development of suppliers in Aysén”, which had the participation of representatives of SalmonChile, Australis Seafoods, Blumar, Mowi and the Salmon Council. During the discussion, the importance of strengthening local capacities and generating sustainable productive chains was emphasized, allowing the growth of the sector to have a direct impact on communities in the region.

Among the main strengths of Aysén's supplier ecosystem, highlighted during the meeting, were the experience and commitment of local suppliers; the increasing professionalization of services in logistical, environmental and technological areas; and the willingness of the salmon farming sector to continue integrating Aysén's suppliers into their supply chains.

At the same time, remaining challenges were identified, such as the reduction of gaps in service technology and certification, the generation of financing mechanisms and long-term contracts, and the enhancement of innovation applied to the southern environment, considering factors such as climate, distance and infrastructure.

“The collaboration between companies, state and suppliers is essential to improve regional competitiveness. In salmon farming we understand that our development must go hand in hand with the strengthening of the local productive fabric, generating opportunities for Aysén entrepreneurs to become strategic partners in the aquaculture value chain," Camiruaga said.

During the day, workshops, technical presentations and networking spaces were held, allowing local suppliers to showcase innovative solutions in areas such as energy, sustainability, logistics and specialized services. The event was also attended by regional authorities, representatives of CORFO, Sernapesca and GORE de Aysén.
