The organization of Sea Lice Conference 2025, announced that the deadline has been extended to August 15 for the submission of abstracts for the most important congress in research and management of Caligus rogercresseyi and Lepeophtheirus salmonis, worldwide and to be held in Puerto Varas, Chile, between November 30 and December 04.
This is how the organizing committee of Sea Lice Conference 2025 reported, adding that currently work is being carried out to define the conference program, scientific sessions and keynote speeches that will take place during the 5 days that the event will last.
Since the last version of this international conference was held in 2022, we believe there will be many studies at different stages of development. Because of this, we have decided to extend the submission deadline and thus have the widest variety of studies. We can also mention that with the local and international team we are designing a new format for keynote speeches that would allow us to have a more global view on the "research and management of sea lice," explained the Academic from the Institute of Aquaculture and Environment of the Austral University of Chile, Puerto Montt campus, Professor Sandra Marín.

For the Deputy Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research, Dr. Cristian Gallardo-Escárate, this congress represents a unique opportunity to strengthen international collaboration, “since it is an instance that allows sharing science-based solutions, strengthening public-private partnerships and projecting a more sustainable aquaculture.”
Currently, registrations are open and in early bird phase, that is to say with discounts for those who officialize their registration until before September 30 and are valid for the 3 existing categories: Researchers, Students and Partners of SalmonChile.
“Early registration will allow our independent attendees of your category to access all sessions and events organized in the context of the Sea Lice Conference. In the case of students, they must only attach a regular student certificate or its simile to validate the discount for early bird,” added Ximena Rojas of the Salmon Technological Institute (INTESAL).
Organized by the INCAR Center, the Institute of Aquaculture of the Universidad Austral de Chile and the Technological Institute of Salmon (INTESAL), the present version of the Sea Lice Conference is sponsored by MSD Animal Health, Sudvet Corp, Aquabyte, Mowi Chile and Aqua Pharma Group, and will be held at the Hotel Enjoy, Puerto Varas.
