Activity brought together representatives of agriculture, salmon farming, mussel cultivation and the port sector, as well as executives of the innovation ecosystem.
With great convocation and high interest from the attendees, SAUSTRAL carried out the first demonstration of the automated filtration system AZUD Helix Automatic, a solution designed to operate in both freshwater and seawater, which stands out for its environmental and economic efficiency.
The event, organized by SAUSTRAL along with its strategic partners AZUD, Macrosens and Irrigation Teams, was held at the Chinquihue Foundation (Puerto Montt, Los Lagos region) and included a technical demonstration and a networking day.
During the presentation, Robinson Cavero, founder of SAUSTRAL, stressed that “this technology automates a process that in most companies is still performed manually, which implies high operating and maintenance costs that can exceed $17 million annually. With the AZUD Helix Automatic system, the investment value is even lower than the annual cost of maintaining current equipment, generating immediate efficiency.”

Meanwhile, Fabián Carrasco, also from SAUSTRAL, stressed that “automation not only optimizes filtering performance, but also allows cleaner and sustainable operation, reducing energy consumption and waste generation, among other positive aspects.”
The operating start of the system was carried out by Francisco Bohle, of the Operations team of SAUSTRAL, who showed in the field the operation of the filter, demonstrating its capacity for self-cleaning and its adaptation to different conditions of flow and salinity.

During the networking day, Bruno Yáñez, of Irrigation Teams, deepened the technical performance of the system, detailing that “the AZUD Helix Automatic filters have proven to be reliable, easy to operate and of great capacity to maintain a constant flow, which translates into operational continuity and less human intervention”.
Finally, José Ignacio Larraín, founder of Macrosens, addressed the value of information in real time. “Our flow measurement systems complement the automation of filters, delivering accurate data to anticipate needs, optimize water use and support smarter management,” he said.
The meeting concluded with a cocktail and press point, where participants agreed that this type of demonstration strengthens technological collaboration between productive sectors and promotes the development of solutions oriented to efficiency, sustainability and innovation.
