This is the export of a 3-line feeding system for a 100-ton pontoon being built in Mexico.

In early August, the Chilean company Imatek, will result in a new export of food equipment, this time for the company Pacific Aquaculture, striped bass producing company.

It is a 3-line feeding system for a 100-ton pontoon that is being manufactured in the North American country. “The system is complete, including bloom and Kaeser coolers, screws, hoppers with locks, in addition to the entire control system and corresponding force, with its protections and frequency changers, along with the soul of the system that is our feeding software”, explains Manuel Posadas, Imatek Commercial Manager.

According to the executive to Partnerfish, the software is the fundamental thing of the system, since being of the latest generation and in web format, “it allows us to control from our offices all the components of the system, supporting from here the maintenance staff, without the need for subsequent assistance in the field”.

One relevant aspect is that Imatek has already made different exports to customers in Latin America. In Baja California, Mexico, they have two important customers. The first is his own Pacific AquacultureAnd the second is Baja Aqua-Farms, a company that grows tuna.

“Mexican customers, as in several other countries, are led by Chilean professionals, who know that big companies do not see attractively selling equipment to them, because of the high installation and post-sales costs. Our systems are monitored remotely and with our assistance they are easy to maintain,” adds Imatek’s business manager.

Export experience

The supplier company began its operations in 2019 and, since 2020, began its exports, with a shipment of photoperiod system for trout fry in Peru, as well as 3 photoperiod test cages for a sea bass crop in Panama.

Subsequently, in 2021 it concluded the export of a complete control system for a fish farming in Indonesia, which included water quality sensors. The first export to Mexico was made a year later, with the marketing of 5 lines of feed for striped bass, which was complemented by a subsequent sale of 2 additional lines.

Already in 2023, Imatek made a new shipment to the North American country, this time from a monitoring system with FHD cameras, depth sensors and solar panels for tuna cultivation, for 20 cages of 50 meters in diameter. In addition, the sale of a new additional bass feed line was concluded.

Finally, in June 2024, the export to Mexico of additional monitoring equipment for 10 tuna cages was carried out, to which will be added the next dispatch in August 2024, of the feeding system for bass.

Manuel Posadas indicated that Imatek currently has 52 feeding pontoons operating with its technology in Chile, in addition to a fish farming. “For this year, the first automatic feeding system for Argentina is also planned, growing trout, for which we are only waiting for the customs release of that country,” added the company’s commercial representative, who increasingly consolidates its presence. as a technological supplier of Latin American aquaculture producers.
