The implementation of R&D+i programs is a fundamental pillar for business competitiveness.

Aquaculture faces significant challenges, from the growing demand for seafood products to environmental sustainability, in an environment marked by the climate changeIn this context, Research, Development and innovation (R&D+i) are fundamental for companies to remain competitive over time.

Research and development offers to PSP Chile a competitive advantage by presenting solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their systems, according to the company. An example is the collaborative work launched in 2021 in conjunction with the Austral University of Chile (University of Chile) and the laboratory Andean Plankton, where systems have been validated PCM (Compact Microbubble Screen) with a blocking effectiveness of up to 91% for harmful algal blooms (FAN) and 87% against jellyfish.

The results of the last study presented in 2024 show that blockade effectiveness varies according to parameters such as the amount of air injected and the speed of marine currents, obtaining outstanding results in currents up to 0.4 meters per second. These solutions reveal the importance of considering operational variablesadded to a unique engineering to ensure the best performance for each mitigation project.

Gonzalo TampierDirector of the Hydrodynamic Test Channel of the UACh, emphasizes: "The results obtained have left us very satisfied, and show us that methodical work And well organized, it pays off. Even so, we see that this type of experimentation has great potential for development, and we must continue to work and above all investigating in this line."

For his part, the Executive Director of PSP Chile, Bruno López"We're here to take care of our clients' assets; our intention is to be a Strategic Ally which boosts competitiveness at efficiency levels. Born in industry since 2016, we understand the importance of not generate mortality and, therefore, we offer a flexible commercial format that adapts to the needs of each customer. More than 300 projects in nine years, our maturity as a company begins to be recognized abroad, thanks to our dedication and work in the Chilean salmon industry, through a robust research program to validate our systems."

The implementation of R & D & I programmes are a fundamental pillar for business competitiveness and constant innovation. By addressing global problems and offering Effective solutions, companies that value this form of research not only strengthen their position in the market, but also become exchange agents in an increasingly dynamic environment.
