Training process and technological update reaffirms Garware Chile's commitment to innovation, quality and safety in the salmon industry.
After a decade of presence in our country, the company Garware Technical Fibres Chile It has become a technical reference for the net market. That is why, recently, they have incorporated a specialized service to measure the tensile strength and stiffness of the nets, using a tensiometer, specifically designed for this purpose.
This service represents a new and innovative tool to ensure the quality and performance of the fish cages, lobster traps and bird cages, used in the operations of the salmon farming industry. "Our team has a valid calibration certificate issued by CESMEC, an entity accredited by the National Institute of Normalization (INN), which ensures the accuracy and reliability of the results, under the ISO 1806, 1805, according to Resolution 1821 and its modifications," comments Ramkrushna Borse, technical head Garware Chile.
Additionally, Garware has another equipment, designed by its quality department at the headquarters, to carry out comparative tests of the nets' resistance to cutting. A fine microscopy unit has also been incorporated for the analysis of the fibers after testing. "In case of greater complexity, requiring molecular details, the samples can be sent to our quality laboratory in India to find out their" analysis in spectrophotometers. And also abrasion tests and exposure to ultraviolet light over time," explains Borse.

Prior to the launch of this service, the technical team from Garware Chile made a trip to India to be trained in the execution of tests. With this, they are now trained in the use of specialized tensiometers and in the performance of shear resistance tests.
To date, "several customers have already used these services and have received certificates with the results of the tests. For their evaluation, the nets to be analyzed can be new or used, being optimal to be able to build the data curve of each net over time. In the testing, it is key to provide stable temperature and humidity, within the ranges required by the standard. This process of training and technological update" reaffirms Garware Chile’s commitment to innovation, quality and safety in the salmon industry,” says Francisco Serra, commercial manager Garware Chile.
The laboratory, located in Puerto Varas, has been implemented to offer advanced technical support for testing existing products in the market. It allows rigorous and accurate testing of materials used in networks, ensuring that they comply with national and international standards. “Trust us, we are experts in technical fibers to ensure the quality of the networks your operation needs. The networks precisely they are in charge of taking care of their investment,” concludes Marcos Jofré, business associate Garware Technical Fibres Chile.
