The recent opening of the new office of Tecnovax Animal Health, Aqua Division, in Puerto Varas, marks a milestone in its strategy of closeness to the salmon farming industry, strengthening the health response, local logistics and technical support to its customers in southern Chile.

With the aim of deepening its commitment to national salmon farming, Tecnovax Chile announced the opening of its new offices in Puerto Varas, Los Lagos Region. The initiative responds to a strategic decision aimed at strengthening proximity with its customers and understanding, from the territory, the health challenges faced by the salmon industry. The office is led by Alejandro Pino Núñez, Fish Vaccines BU Director & Country Manager Chile, who leads the development of the Aqua division globally with headquarters in Chile.

Since its inception, Tecnovax has developed biological solutions focused on animal health protection, based on science, innovation and a permanent commitment to productive industries. Its track record is marked by the design of high-standard vaccines, developed to respond to real scenarios and the complex health challenges of salmon farming on a global level.

In critical contexts, the company stands out for the development of emergency vaccines, designed to act quickly and accurately in the face of exceptional health events. This capability allows to provide support, productive continuity and greater peace of mind to producers, even in situations of high operational demand.

Tecnovax operates as a veterinary pharmaceutical laboratory with a global vision, developing vaccines and health solutions for the salmon industry in different markets, being an active player in the current market directly and previously through distributors. Research and development are central pillars of its proposal, aimed at advancing towards a safer and more sustainable salmon farming.

In that context, Alejandro Pino Núñez highlighted that "we have a human and technical team with extensive experience, which deeply understands the health challenges of the salmon industry in Chile. We arrive with proven alternatives to face the main pathogens affecting fish farms, providing concrete solutions and technical support to our clients from the territory."

The Tecnovax portfolio includes vaccines for the three salmonid species farmed in Chile, addressing high health relevance pathogens such as IPN, SRS, ISA, Vibrio, Aeromonas and even Caligus, consolidating an integrated offer for the main sector challenges and projecting the entry of new products in 2026.

Adding to this is the availability of local stock in Chile, with vaccines stored both in Santiago and Puerto Varas, which allows ensuring speed in delivery and operational continuity. The company complements this capability with a robust cold chain management, through the provision of refrigerators with remote temperature monitoring and automatic alert systems in case of any deviation, thus guaranteeing effectiveness and safety of their vaccines.
