Last week this incubator was officially presented to national and international entrepreneurs in early stages, with special emphasis on the Los Lagos region.
The launch of the call for KëtrawaLab Volcano Incubator was a success, bringing together entrepreneurs, authorities and experts from the innovation and sustainability ecosystem in the Los Lagos region. The event marked the beginning of the program that seeks to promote innovative and sustainable projects, with a focus on circular economy, decarbonization and ecosystem regeneration.
With the support of Corfo, the Innovation Center UC Anacleto Angelini, and various key actors in the public and private spheres, this incubator was officially presented to national and international entrepreneurs in early stages, with special emphasis on the Los Lagos region. During the launch, the services offered by the incubator were detailed, such as mentoring, access to finance, work spaces and support networks, with the objective of supporting projects with high potential for growth and scalability.

Eduardo Arancibia, Regional Director of Corfo Los Lagos, highlighted the relevance of this initiative to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the region: "The Volcanoes incubator is a fundamental step towards consolidating the Los Lagos region as a benchmark in sustainable innovation. This call will allow entrepreneurs with transformative ideas to access key tools and networks to develop high-impact projects, with a focus on circular economy and ecosystem regeneration."
The event
The event was held at the German Club Tropera in Puerto Varas and was attended by more than 50 people. Attendees had the opportunity to know the details of the call, the application process and the key dates to participate. In addition, a panel discussion entitled “Sustainable Industries: Innovation from the Lakes region” was held, which addressed how sustainability has become an advantage competitive for industries in the region, such as aquaculture, agro-industry and tourism.

The panel was moderated by Maria José Urrutia, general manager of Këtrawa, and brought together public and private sector experts such as Eduardo Arancibia (regional director of Corfo Los Lagos), Alex Parnas (director of the Innovation Center UC Anacleto Angelini), and representatives of key sustainability companies such as SalmonChile and AgroLlanquihue. Panellists discussed how the region can take advantage of sustainability opportunities and how entrepreneurs can play a crucial role in this process.
Next steps
Due to the high interest in the call for “Volcanes incubator” this extended its application period until 15.00 hrs. on March 21, 2025, and interested entrepreneurs can apply through the incubator’s website. This program represents a unique opportunity for those who wish to take their innovative and sustainable projects to the next level, supported by a strong team of mentors and strategic allies.
Mario Núñez, head of Projects of Kétrawa and director of the Incubator Volcanoes said that “we believe that by extending the call it will allow access to more entrepreneurs and projects to participate in the program and thus enter the first generation of companies accelerated by the incubator Volcanes”.
