Importers from six countries toured companies and technology centers in the region, establishing commercial links and evaluating aquaculture solutions for implementation in international markets.

To generate business and transfer technology, a delegation of importers from Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Brazil and Canada toured the Los Lagos Region within the framework of the event of ProChile Enexpro Global Solutions 2026, knowing first-hand the range of aquaculture solutions and establishing links with local companies.

The agenda included two days of technical visits with companies from the Aquaculture Innovation Club. In the first, the delegation participated in networking events with sector companies, organized by Endeavor Patagonia, and toured the Aquaculture Experimental Center (CEA) of Vitapro by Salmofood and the ADL Diagnostic laboratory, learning about R&D+i processes in health and biotechnology. In the second day, they visited Lago Fish Farming Sofia, where they observed the RAS system and the start of the salmon cycle, highlighting the high productive standards of the local industry, then to visit the company DVS Tecnologia S.A., dedicated to the recovery of marine grounds and water bodies.

The regional director of ProChile Los Lagos, Ricardo Arriagada, highlighted that "these visits allow to show on site the technological level, experience and innovation of the aquaculture providers in the region, with solutions applicable to markets such as tilapia, salmon and shrimp, opening concrete business opportunities and diversification."

He added that "links have already been established with local companies, and we hope these instances continue to position Chile and the Los Lagos Region as a strategic partner in innovative solutions for global aquaculture."

From the international delegation, the participants valued the level of technological development observed. Leopold Landry, co-founder and president of Aquaboreal Inc., Canada, stated that "we belong to an ecosystem in Côte-Nord, Quebec, and we were invited by ProChile to visit the region. It has been a very interesting experience for us. We visited companies, laboratories and very outstanding production systems, which gives us more" information to develop a project of great value. In addition, we had the opportunity to meet Chilean companies, with which we hope to generate future collaborations.

Along the same lines, Sandra Pardo, operational manager of the Ecuadorian company OMARSA, said that “it has been an intense agenda, which allowed us to meet various companies and identify concrete business opportunities.” He added that “we have been particularly struck by technology, particularly in monitoring solutions for shrimp production, which we are already evaluating to incorporate.”

For his part, Renato Morandi, partner and operations director of the Brazilian company Qualitá Piscicultura, said that “the visit exceeded our expectations and allowed us to generate links with very serious companies, which opens new opportunities between Brazil and Chile.” He also highlighted the role of the local ecosystem: “We see a high professional level in the Aquaculture Innovation Club, which makes it easier to project future collaborations.”

From the Dominican Republic, Richard Leclerc, representative of Gamas del Caribe, who took a sample of companies, valued the experience noting that “we have known three or four very interesting companies. In particular, we are already in discussions with a diagnostic company with which we hope to continue working,” he said. He added that “they are companies with a technological level that we do not have in our country and that without a doubt We need to. These solutions will allow us to solve productive challenges and contribute to the development of our company and aquaculture in our country.”

The ENEXPRO Global Solutions 2026 export meeting closed with more than 800 business meetings and 49 investment pitch, projecting sales of US$30.5 million for Chilean technology companies. In addition to activities in Santiago, visits to regions such as Los Lagos are part of ProChile's strategy to position the country's offer of innovative solutions in international markets and strengthen its global insertion.
