The regional governor, Alejandro Santana, highlighted the importance of maintaining collaborative work between the private and public sectors to promote the sustainable growth of the industry.
In order to strengthen the link between the productive sector and regional authorities, the partner companies of SalmonChile, among them MultiX, Yadrán and Camanchaca, received the regional governor of Los Lagos, Alejandro Santana, on a tour of various salmon farming plants in the area.
During the visit, the governor was able to get a close look at the production processes, technological advances and good practices that have established salmon farming as a key industry for the regional and national economy. In this context, he highlighted the importance of maintaining a collaborative effort between the private and public sectors to promote the sustainable growth of the industry.
"The salmon industry is a strategic sector both for Chile and our region. In each plant we have been able to observe significant advances in terms of safety, environmental sustainability and the companies' commitment to their workers and the surrounding communities. It is a sector that has managed to adapt to global challenges and continue forward with substantial improvements in its processes," said Santana.
For his part, the territorial representative of SalmonChile in Chiloé, Pablo Moraga, highlighted the relevance of these instances of rapprochement and dialogue for the strengthening of the sector. "This type of meeting allows us to share first hand the advances and challenges of the industry, as well as to strengthen the commitment of the companies to the development of the area. Chiloé is a fundamental territory for salmon farming, and to boost its sustainable growth is key for the future," said Moraga.
“It is essential that the state and regulators not only monitor, but also generate the incentives necessary to ensure new investments, which will allow for further development and growth of the sector, because the community is based on the direct and indirect sources of work offered by industry,” the governor added.
