Implementation was developed within the framework of the Fisheries Monitoring Programme under the Agreement Management Areas Regime, ASIPA. The PPP includes, inter alia, access to maps, general figures, the AMERB sector and the regulatory framework.
In order to add a tool to facilitate access to the information of the Areas for the Management of the Exploitation of Benthic Resources (AMERB), the Benthonic Resources Unit (URB), together with the Information Technology Unit of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Subsecretariat (Subpesca)They designed and premiered the mobile app called "BUSCAMERB".
In particular, through this app that is operating on Android and will soon be available to iOS users, stakeholders can access general and particular information from AMERBs, focusing mainly on administrative, geographical and regulatory aspects, "which we hope will be useful for artisanal fishermen, consulting companies, public institutions, and any other user interested in knowing about this regime", they indicated from the specialized unit of Subpesca.
For the development and financing of this initiative, the Fisheries Monitoring Program under the ASIPA Agreement Management Areas was used, taking advantage of the dissemination objective that these projects contemplate.
The PPP menu includes, among other sections, general figures, maps, AMERB sector and regulatory framework. Meanwhile, "additional procedures such as management actions, extensions, additions and extensions should be consulted by the traditional media," they said from the URB.
Under the AMERB regime, exclusive exploitation rights are granted to benthic resources (benthic invertebrates and algae), present in previously established geographical sectors, to which artisanal fishermen's organizations may opt, legally constituted and registered in the Artisanal Fishing Register, subject to approval of a management and exploitation plan supervised by Subpesca and supervised by Sernapesca.
