In a visit to Blumar's facilities, the parliamentarian highlighted that the alliance between the industry and the communities should be strengthened, promoting the sector's relevance in the development and employment of the area.

Always we have highlighted the importance of salmon farming, which is the second most important productive activity in the country, after mining, and half is produced in this region. Therefore, we have to focus on how this activity meets and associates with the community to be an activity that delivers development and employment.

With these words, the MP Marcia Raphael closed his visit to Elena Weste cultivation centre of Blumar. Along the same lines, the speaker said, “Annual exports of US$6,500 million are significant. Half of that stays in the Aysén region, so we will do everything we can in Congress to ensure the sector plays an important role in the region’s development and employment.”

The visit by the parliamentarian from the Aysén region took place within the framework of the "Visits on Board" program, through which Blumar shows its facilities to authorities, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and collaboration between the public and private sectors.

In the event, two council members from Aysén also participated. One of them was Luis Muñoz, who thanked the initiative and highlighted the importance of authorities knowing "the companies that provide work to the people of the commune and understand how they operate on a daily basis". Meanwhile, Tatiana Villarroel agreed: "It is always necessary to know the realities of such an important productive sector for our commune and region, as is the industry" Salmon. Companies in this sector must have a very close link with the community in order to grow together.”

Along these lines, Blumar’s community manager, Carolina Vera, stressed that “our relationship with Aysén is long-standing, as we operated several years ago in the region. In that sense, it is of great value that the community and the authorities visit us, know our facilities and the work we do. This allows them to get closer to the work of industry and to be aware of its progress.”

On the other hand, Councilwoman Villarroel said that “in the technical training center of the region there are careers related to the aquaculture world, which is an incentive for the inhabitants of the region to specialize to exercise in an increasingly skilled way in the industry”.

The assistant of the center located in Puerto Aysén, Héctor Saavedra, emphasized that during the visit “very relevant topics were raised for professionals who work in this sector, such as the impulse to the aquaculture race in the region. Blumar has alliances with lyceos and technical bodies, which allow us to have more and more job opportunities in the industry.”
