The team was designed by Soldasur for the processing and handling of fish mortality, whose final product will be silage.
Recently Soldasur, a company specializing in the manufacture of industrial machinery, developed a new silo hopper model for the aquaculture industry. The equipment is designed for the treatment and handling of fish mortality, in order to obtain silage, integrating a pre-crusher, two shredder pumps -which can operate individually or simultaneously-, also functioning as a recirculation and discharge pump.
Each of the pumps has different suction lines, one for internal circulation and another for external discharge.

In the opinion of Claudio Uribe, general manager of Soldasur, the fact of crushing the salmon on site is very helpful when transporting crushed mortality."It is an innovation that supports the salmon industry in mitigating medium-sized mortalities. The system with recirculation pumps helps prevent it from sticking in the silos, while through the crushing pumps costs are reduced, by delivering the crushed mortality to the plants that process the silage."
High strength materials
The crusher is made with stainless steel blades, as well as high strength materials and easy to clean. Meanwhile, the accumulation tank, having an incline, allows emptying of it, thanks to the effect of gravity and the pumps themselves, leaving minimal residues from the process inside.
“The crusher is powered by belts generates the rotation of the blades, with all this being in a 20 foot container giving better mobility to the system, being able to be easily transferred and give the necessary support to the processes in different places and climates,” adds Claudio Uribe.
The equipment developed by Soldasur also has a pump for acids (formic acid), thus giving a greater durability of the viscose organic matter produced. This component guarantees that it will continuously supply the necessary quantity of that product to the silo terminal. “We have been an innovative company in the field, so we have several products and business lines in the market,” says the representative of the company, which already has 15 years of experience working on solutions of treatment and handling of salmonid mortality.
