Technology developed by Lythium automates the manual selection processes carried out in the plants, achieving the avoidance of losses caused by the use of traditional methods.

Lithium, company that uses artificial vision to analyze production processes in real time and generate information for decision making, showed its latest advances at the Technological Innovation Forum FIT Los Lagos 2025.

In the meeting, held last Thursday 3 April in Puerto Montt, representatives of the startup they launched their interactive mobile classification system, showing how image intelligence optimizes the classification process in salmon farming. "We wanted to present the second stage of Lythium, which in its early years focused on exposing the industry with the quality data of processing plants, with the numbers of the fillets being processed in the facilities. In this second stage, we no longer just want to collect information, but also to take decisions at the plant using Artificial Intelligence," explained to Partnerfish Abdias Ponce, technical manager of Lythium.

For this, with its smart camera and with its AI, they can control equipment from well-known brands in the industry, determining processes within the plant. "These are the cases of the graders, scales, among others, managing to automate the quality process. This covers not only the issue of automation to reduce time and costs, but also the issue of standardizing quality and, on the other hand, making smarter decisions in real time. That’s what we came here to present to FIT Los Lagos,” Ponce added.

According to the executive, the forum was “spectacular, it’s something I missed in the city. It served to reconnect with customers and to be able to know what other startups are working on similar processes. In this way, it is possible to share experiences and errors, being able to interconnect in the technological topic. It was entertaining, as it was not only a commercial instance, but also a technical event,” said Obadías Ponce.

It should be noted that the system developed by Lythium automates the manual selection processes that are currently carried out in plants, managing to avoid the losses that are produced in premium salmon by using traditional methods.
