The activity served to inform the attendees of the advances that the platform has made in recent years, as well as to create a feedback opportunity with the industry.
An extensive call-out of representatives from seafood processing plants had the dissemination days of the Integrated Foreign Trade System (SICEX) of the Ministry of Finance, the single window for foreign trade in Chile, held together with the National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) in the Los Lagos region.
The activity took place in Puerto Montt and was led by Héctor Escobar, deputy director of Food Safety and Certification of Sernapesca; Bárbara Matamala, director of SICEX; and Cristian Hudson, regional director of Sernapesca in Los Lagos. The event served to inform the attendees of the progress made by the platform in recent years, as well as to create an opportunity for feedback with the industry.
"The importance of these events was to learn the point of view of the processing plants and all those interested in exporting marine resources to different markets, regarding the procedures and digital systems for carrying out the foreign trade procedures, grouped in SICEX," said Héctor Escobar.
The activity also allowed informing about the ongoing efforts in opening and maintaining international markets, as well as about the upcoming changes that will be implemented regarding the certification of the Quality Assurance Programs. The event was an opportunity to resolve doubts and clarify questions raised by the users, thus strengthening transparency and commitment to the export processes.
