For almost three months, the initiative sought to offer practical and personalized support to SMEs and local suppliers in order to provide them with tools to be part of the salmon industry chain.

Within the framework of the collaboration agreement between the Sercotec Puerto Aysén Business Centre and Multi X, and with the presence of more than 60 local community actors, authorities, unions and institutions, the program Red Pyme Aysén, a free public-private initiative that since August has taught training and mentoring to strengthen competencies of current or potential suppliers of the aquaculture industry in the region, was completed. These trainings were carried out in two stages, the first of trainings by Sercotec and the second of mentorships led by expert executives of Multi X.

Thus, the closing day was attended by representatives of the Regional Government of Corfo, BancoEstado and Inacap, as well as local unions, mentors of Multi X and suppliers, who participated in a meeting of dialogue, learning and collaboration.

Multi X Corporate Supply Manager Daniel Santa Cruz, who leads the project from the salmonicultora, stressed that “this program was designed to directly support our current and potential suppliers, giving them concrete tools that allow them to be more efficient and competitive. This initiative also involved various areas of the company, all under the conviction that Aysén has all the talent and human capital needed to continue to grow alongside salmon farming.”

For his part, Nelly Vargas, regional director of SERCOTEC, explained that “the high call reached by this first meeting of Red Pyme Aysén gave us a great opportunity to talk with the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the Aysén Region. During the day we were able to publicize the different financing instruments offered by Sercotec and Corfo, in addition to the alternatives available to banks, especially Banco Estado Microenterprise. All this with the aim of continuing to promote local development and to strengthen collaboration between salmon farming, the State and the community"

The event began with the presentation of Paulina Medina, Head of the Business Center of Aysén, who together with Germán Peña, Chief of Supplier Management and Development of Multi X, presented the creation and evolution of the project. Then, Patricio Catalán, CEO of Innovex and special guest of this instance, shared his experience of entrepreneurship and business development, giving the present valuable keys to the creation and implementation of business ideas that transform into successful companies that are projected over time.

Then the Sercotec certification ceremony was given to the participating SMEs, together with the delivery of an additional certificate by Multi X to those who participated in the mentoring cycle.

The discussion panel “Development of local suppliers in Aysén: competitiveness and growth” was also held, a space for dialogue on strategies to strengthen the development of local suppliers, considering the challenges of technical training, access to financing and articulation with public support programs. The forum was attended by Christian Stolzenbach, Regional Deputy Microenterprises State Bank; Mario Pérez Colina, Academic Director Inacap headquarters Coyhaique; and Boris López Bravo, Deputy Regional Director of Corfo.

To end the day, six dialogue tables were held in which the participants of the program resolved doubts on issues such as financing, tax compliance, brand strengthening, normative compliance, security standards and digital competencies with mentors and invited experts.
