The initiative, which brought together more than a hundred postcards, aimed to highlight the experience of those who work on board the company's wellboats, recognizing their perspective through photography.
The company NACHIPA Wellboats announced this week the winners of the Photography Contest "Sailing Together the Austral Sea", an initiative that sought to capture, from an authentic and personal perspective, the moments, landscapes and experiences that define the work on board the vessels of its fleet.
The competition was aimed "at highlighting life at sea, the daily work of our crews, and the connection with the unique landscape of southern Chile," according to the organizers, and received a notable participation.
We thank everyone who shared their perspective and experiences, reflecting with depth the identity and spirit of the vessels that sail our southern waters.
We want to especially highlight the five photographs selected by the jury, but also all those who sent their images. We really did not expect to have more than 100 photographs," said Carlos Báez, general manager of NACHIPA Wellboats.
The Jury took time to deliberate, among the more than 100 photographs received and was composed of Carlos Báez, general manager of NACHIPA Wellboats, Mario Pineda, photographer and Guillermo Villalobos, commercial manager of the company.

The 1st place, was for the image entitled “Navering between fjords and miracles”, whose author is Diego Salazar Bustos, First Pilot of the Ronia Pioneer. It is a moving image that portrays the moment after an intense day of navigation between rain and reduced visibility. From the deck, a rainbow rises as a symbol of calm and hope, capturing the resilient essence of maritime work.
Regarding the photograph, Salazar highlighted that “beyond the loads, the routes and the protocols, there are also moments like this... where the soul is anchored, even though the ship keeps moving.” The winner adds that it was a great surprise to learn of his recognition. “I know that many people participated by sending images and having won seems wonderful to me.”

Regarding his photograph, he stressed being a lover of nature and good observer so he is always pending if there is any detail that he can appreciate. “Those moments like the one I captured are the gifts that nature gives us.”
The 2nd place was for the photograph “Navering under the stars”, taken by Christopher Navarrete who described his image with the following words: “The Ronia Pioneer is transformed into an observatory under the Milky Way, reminding us of human smallness in front of the universe, even in the midst of maritime immensity”. It is a photograph that mixes science, introspection and beauty.

In the 3rd place was located: “Silencio Austral” by Camila Mancilla Ule, who made a minimalist and powerful capture that she describes as “the calm of the surface that hides the dynamism of the marine life that transports the Ronia Atlantic”. In this image, technology, biology and territory intertwine in a serene but deeply meaningful image.
The photographs of Gabriel Antonio Quilaguilque and Raúl Vidal were also recognized with outstanding mentions. Both participants were selected for their catches, which reflect the daily life and professionalism of the work on board, contributing to the visibility of the importance of our work in the salmon production chain.

NACHIPA thanked each participant for their dedication and creativity, announcing that las winning photographs will be part of an internal exhibition and will be disseminated through corporate channels, as a symbol of pride for the work they carry out day by day in the southern sea.
