When I received the invitation mail, it was indicated that they had not considered another researcher to assume this function, which was especially gratifying, as we are on the other side of the world and that we value what we do and our trajectory is always cause for satisfaction. Just seeing that I am recognized as a Professor is a category that your peers give you and a recognition that I didn’t think I would reach at 52 years of age.”
The researcher noted that “In practice, I began to manage articles in mid-December 2025, in a process that represents continuous learning. In addition, this new task comes at a very significant time, just as we are closing the year with the award of the CIA INCAR², which is highly motivating and challenging in the face of 2026.”The areas of interest that the journal regularly covers include Pathogen Studies of fish, Physiopathology, Diagnostic Methods, Therapy, Epidemiology and Descriptions of new diseases.
Among the tasks to be carried out are the administration of scientific articles in the area of bacterial diseases, the management of scientific reviews and the evaluation of peer reviews, among other functions.
In this regard, the scientist said: “It is important to note that science is currently on alert in front of payment journals and those that are not, with peer evaluation being one of the fundamental pillars of the system. In this context, the Journal of Fish Diseases is one of the most classical and recognized journals in the area, with indicators of great relevance within the veterinary sciences.”
