Initiative seeks to position the Los Lagos region as a development pole in the Blue Economy low in emissions.
In order to boost the sustainability and competitiveness of the region, the "Bootcamp: Decarbonization and Blue Economy", an unpublished training program focused on delivering cutting-edge tools and knowledge to companies and startups in the Los Lagos Region.
The opening day, which marked the beginning of the activities for those selected, was held in the DUOC UC, Headquarters Puerto Montt. This initiative, supported by Corfo Los Lagos through his background Viralise, is executed by the innovation consultant Ketrawa Lab and co-executed by the regeneration platform 2811.
The program seeks to position the Los Lagos region as a development pole in the Blue Economy low in emissions. Over the coming weeks, participants will be immersed in an intensive training process that will address crucial issues such as carbon footprint reduction strategies, emission calculation and climate change adaptation in key industries such as aquaculture, tourism and fisheries.

After the successful start, the program moves to Puerto Varas to continue with key activities. The next formative milestone developed this Monday, 28 July with the Module 4: "Environmental regulations and sustainable financing in the blue economy". This will be followed up by the Module 5, focusing on "Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and entrepreneurship in the blue economy". These modules are crucial for entrepreneurs to navigate the regulatory framework and align their projects with global sustainability goals.
Eduardo Arancibia, Regional Director of Corfo Los Lagos, highlighted the strategic relevance of this initiative. "Supporting this bootcamp is a bet on the future of our region. We need our companies, especially those linked to the sea, not only to be productive, but also to be leaders in sustainability. To give them knowledge applied in decarbonisation is to give them a tool of competitiveness fundamental to the markets of the Tomorrow. We are proud to drive a pioneering program that strengthens our ecosystem and aligns it with global challenges."
The main objective is to promote knowledge and relevance of these issues, enabling local business leaders to implement concrete improvements, accelerate their transition to more sustainable business models and measure their impact.
For his part, Felipe Lisboa, Director of the program said: "We have begun a journey of transformation. The selected companies have enormous potential to generate a positive impact. With this program, we not only seek to give them theory, but also practical tools and a network of contacts that allows them to accelerate their projects and actively contribute to the decarbonization of the blue economy of Patagonia."
The programme will culminate in the presentation of projects and their advances, opening up new opportunities for linkages with the innovation ecosystem and potential investors.
