Salmon Plan session was held in the Aysén region, where the salmon farming industry represents more than 25% of the regional GDP.
As part of its commitment to the sustainable development of salmon farming and territorial work, the Salmon Council held its board meeting in Puerto Aysén and participated in the third plenary session of the Salmon 2050 Plan.
The plan, which aims to position Chile and southern Chile as a world leader in sustainable and competitive aquaculture, brings together representatives from the political, union, business, academic and social worlds. This time, the salmon farming session was held in the Aysén region, where the salmon farming industry represents more than 25% of the regional GDP.
The session focused on the presentation of the different strategic axes of the plan, with direct participation of the team in areas such as: political/public axis (Loreto Seguel), human capital (Ángela Saavedra), production and development (Rolf Traeger), legal certainty (Rodrigo Pinto) and sustainability (Alejandra Bustamante).

This plan is a call to jointly build a new stage for Chilean salmon farming, one where greater investments, sustainability and social legitimacy are combined to position the sector as a strategic development sector for the country in the coming decades. It is relevant that today we are in Aysén showing how this industry not only contributes in the economic field, but also reinforces its own identity and a strong territorial rooting of Chileans who live and work in the southern area. The Aysén region is vital for the industry. said Loreto Seguel, executive president of the Salmon Council.
Moreover, within the framework of this trip, the Salmon Council held its board meeting in the Aysén Region, reaffirming the sector's commitment to territorial development, decentralization and the strategic importance of this region for the future of the industry.
