International cooperation

“We are very pleased with the interest Blue Week Los Lagos has taken. We will have the presence of very well-known guests and rapporteurs at the national and international levels, which will allow us to broaden the discussion on how to continue to advance in sustainable businesses around the sea and how to enhance coastal activities for the benefit of our communities”, stresses the general manager of Këtrawa, Maria José Urrutia.

By their part, María Ángeles Osorio, Executive Director of Fundación Chile España, points out that for its institution and the companies that make up it “it is essential to support meetings that strengthen economic and trade relations between countries in a sustained way and in various sectors, such as energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, technology, innovation and, of course, blue economy”.

“All interested are invited to be part of this meeting, since the networking that will undoubtedly be generated will have good results. From Blue Week Los Lagos we have been able to articulate all the actors of the ecosystem, from governments, international organizations, companies, universities, foundations, associations, clusters and startups. The goal is that we are all connected to continue to build ties between both our countries and, above all, between Chile and the European Union. It should not be forgotten that the Advanced Framework Agreement already entered into force in February, which opens up many opportunities to increase economic and trade exchange,” he added.

Meanwhile, José Miguel Benavente Executive Vice President of CORFO – one of the main partners of the event–, he maintains that “this meeting has an outstanding participation of our institution because we are convinced that the experience and initiatives that we promote, especially from innovation and entrepreneurship in the territories, can contribute significantly to promoting a balance between the environmental, economic and social dimensions that converge around the oceans. This space will be a opportunity to discuss, know and find collaborative and sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the blue economy.”

The Regional Director of CORFO Los Lagos, Eduardo Arancibia, reaffirms the message, adding that “Blue Week will be a unique opportunity to connect knowledge and co-create sustainable solutions to ocean challenges, positioning our region as a benchmark in marine regeneration and productive transformation with a focus on the sea.”
