The event allowed to coordinate the content of the seminar and to advance in the strengthening of links with one of the main markets for Chilean salmon farming.
In the run-up to the international seminar on labeling and healthy eating to be held this Thursday in Puerto Varas, the Salmon Council held a working meeting with representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as part of its engagement agenda with the United States.
The meeting was chaired by the executive president of the trade association, Loreto Seguel, and included the participation of González Ibáñez, International Regulatory Analyst from the FDA Latin America Office, and Christopher Waldrop, Senior Health Scientist of the agency, who will be the main speakers at the event.
The body allowed to coordinate the content of the seminar and advance in the strengthening of links with one of the main markets for Chilean salmon farming.
"The seminar that we will carry out together with the FDA reflects the work that we have been developing with strategic markets. It is another step in a long-term international agenda to strengthen the projection of Chilean salmon in the United States," said Seguel.
The executive added that the meeting "allows to consolidate a relationship of trust with key technical authorities, in a context where regulatory standards and consumer requirements are increasingly higher."
The seminar will take place on Thursday 26 March in Puerto Varas and will address topics such as healthy labeling, traceability and the role of Chile as a relevant supplier of salmon for the US market.
