The event, to be held on July 22 in Frutillar, will bring together presidential candidates, authorities, business people and community representatives to discuss decentralization, innovation and sustainability of the Chilean salmon farming sector.

SalmonChile, the main trade association of the national salmon farming sector, announced the holding of the Salmon Summit 2025, a key meeting to be held on 22 July in Frutillar, Los Lagos region. The event will bring together presidential candidates, authorities, business people and representatives of civil society in a dialogue space focused on decentralisation, innovation and sustainability, fundamental pillars for the future of the southern region and Chilean aquaculture.

The event programme includes three thematic modules. The first will focus on the country's decentralization and the promotion of aquaculture at a national level, with the participation of presidential candidates, who will present their proposals for the development of southern Chile and the competitiveness of the sector.

The second module will address the challenge of positioning the southern area as a global aquaculture innovation hub, leveraging the presence of a solid research, development and innovation cluster in the area, along with the contribution of more than four thousand SMEs that make up the salmon farming value chain.

Finally, the third block will be dedicated to presenting concrete proposals that allow the growth of the sector to be compatible with the care of the environment, reaffirming the industry's commitment to sustainability as the central axis of its activity.

This Salmon Summit represents a unique opportunity to bring together the main public and private actors around a strategic conversation about the future of the salmon sector and its contribution to the country's development. We must continue building bridges that allow us to grow in a sustainable way, generating quality employment and opportunities for the communities in the southern region, while we continue being the second most important export sector "important for Chile," highlighted Arturo Clément, president of SalmonChile.
