The affected company has already carried out the harvest of all the fish that were in the cage with the presence of the virus and showing signs of the disease, which were transferred to a plant in Quellón for processing.
On Thursday 17 September, the National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) received notification of a positive ISA result at the Izaza cultivation center of the company Salmones Camanchaca, located in the Salmonid Concessions Group (ACS) 20 in the Aysén region.
Regarding this, the regulatory body indicated that according to the Specific Health Program for control and surveillance of ISA, on the 17th and 18th an inspection was carried out to check for signs compatible with the disease and to sample the 12 cages of the facility, in order to confirm the presence of the virus.
Similarly, from Sernapesca it was reported that the company has already carried out the harvest of all the fish that were in the cage with the presence of the virus and with signs of the disease, which were transferred, while respecting the biosecurity measures required by the regulations, to a plant in Quellón for processing.

Regarding the positive result for ISA virus, the samples obtained on the 18th are in the process of analysis, which will allow confirmation of the virus variant, a condition for establishing zoning and corresponding control and surveillance measures. Additionally, from Sernapesca samples were sent, taken by veterinary doctors from the Service, to be analysed by the reference laboratory.
Since Sernapesca received the notification from the company, specialized teams from the Service deployed on site to start the corresponding inspections. Regarding this, Daniela Leiva, Regional Director of Sernapesca in Aysén, stated: "From the first moment we have maintained a permanent presence at the center where the ISA case was confirmed, verifying the strict compliance with the current regulations. Parallel to this, We have strengthened inspections and monitoring of the adjacent cultivation centers, with the aim of safeguarding the sanitary condition of the area and verifying the implementation of the corresponding preventive measures.
Sernapesca also reported that it will maintain inspections in order to ensure compliance with the current regulations.
